Pleasantdale Social Network

Hello everyone!  I spent quite a bit of my winter break looking at tools for us to use on our Pleasantdale Social Networking Site.  I did find some fun things for us to do.  I would really like use to try and get the xtranormal.com site working here at school and I think that I might have discovered one problem over break.  I have posted a copy of my video that I made over the holidays and uploaded to YouTube on the tools page, check it out.  It is fun to use and easy to come out with a cute final product.

The other tool that I found that was fun and easy was Toondoo.com.  It is a comic making site and I think we will use it in the future too.  You can choose backgrounds, characters and props and write you own cartoon.  Very cute.  Check out what I did in less than 10 minutes by clicking on the tools page.

Hi boys, welcome to our new blog.  I am excited about it, but you have to remember that we are both learning in this process.  I am still trying to figure out how to set this up so it will do what we want it to do. I will be posting stuff for Mrs. Decker, Mrs. Sinclair and Mr. Klix to do as well because I am sure you will be fine working on your own.  If you need to ask questions just ask them.   Today I would like you to do the following:

1.  Check out our new blog and look around.

2.  Go to your name, click on the edit button and tell me a little about yourself such as:

• who is in your family
• what kinds of things to do you like to do
• what do you want to be when you grow up
• what things make you happy
• what things make you mad
• if you could do anything you could right now, what would it be

3.  We are going to use this site to do a couple of different things:

• Do some future planning and thinking
• Work on some social situations and things that we will need for next year

4.  When you get your post done I would like you to go to the site “What’s Your Learning Style” and work through the learning styles exercise.  It is a very important exercise to start to think about how we learn best.  When we realize how we learn, then we can start to take charge of our own learning by adapting what we are taught to fit within our own style.  Make sure that you record what you have learned about yourself so you will be able to talk about it next time.

Please remember that when we post, we want to check carefully for errors in spelling and grammar.  Read through it carefully to make sure your post says what we want it to say and have fun!
